As of Monday December 1, 2025, Mifflin County Housing Authority will close its HCV (Housing Choice Voucher) waiting list.
Current Public Housing Residents – You must place a Borough trash sticker on each bag or bulk item placed at the curb. If Housing Authority staff has to remove unstickered trash, you will be charged for the removal. Additional trash stickers can be purchased at the Administration Building.
Mifflin County Housing Authority currently owns 279 Public Housing units and has 220 Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Vouchers. 40 USDA one bedroom units and 6 DCA units.

Built in 1967, is located at 141 South Pine Road, Lewistown and consists of 84 units. The Housing Authority Administrative Building is located in Lawler Place.
Completed in 1972, Burgard Apartments is located at 120 Chestnut Street, Lewistown, and is a five-story building containing 60 apartments; the majority of which are efficiency and one-bedroom.
MCHA also owns and manages Goss Terrace – a USDA development consisting of 20 duplex buildings. Goss Terrace is located just below McCoy Manor, at the western end of Fifth Street, Lewistown.
Built in 1967, located on the West end of town in Lewistown the McCoy Manor consists of 76 units.
Built as a hotel in 1870 in downtown Lewistown, the Coleman House underwent a $3 million renovation when the Housing Authority purchased the building in 1992. Coleman House contains 40 apartments + 6 DCA apartments.
